Three Pathways, One Direction
Whether a family needs to build communication skills, work through a specific conversation, or put their agreed plans in writing — there's a Tandemly offering shaped for that.
← Back to HomeHow We Design Our Work
Listen First
Before any session begins, we take time to understand where the family is. Each engagement starts with a discovery conversation, not a set programme.
Structure the Space
All three offerings use consistent, tested frameworks. This isn't improvised — every session has a shape that creates safety and forward movement.
Hand Back Ownership
At the end of every engagement, the family owns what was produced — the skills learned, the conversations held, the documents written. Not us.
Cooperative Skills Workshops
Educational sessions designed to build the communication and joint planning habits that let families function better together over the long term. Workshops are participatory, grounded in adult learning principles, and focused on skills families can continue using independently.
Each workshop covers a specific area — active listening, shared decision-making, or constructive disagreement — and is structured to allow real practice, not just theory.
- Small-group format (up to 8 participants)
- Practical exercises, not lecture-style delivery
- Applicable to any family configuration
- Available as a one-off session or short series
How It Works
Initial enquiry — we confirm the topic area and group size
Pre-session preparation materials sent to participants
Half-day workshop session (approximately 3–4 hours)
Post-session summary and optional follow-up
Paced Facilitation Sessions
Structured conversations guided by an impartial Tandemly facilitator — moving at the pace the family chooses, with no external pressure to conclude or agree. These sessions are for families who need a third party in the room: someone who won't take sides, won't offer advice, and won't push toward any particular outcome.
The facilitator manages process — keeps turns, reflects what's been said, notices when the conversation needs a pause — while leaving all content decisions entirely to the participants.
- Fully impartial, non-advising facilitator
- Two to six participants per session
- Voluntary — anyone may pause or step back
- Conducted in a private, comfortable setting
How It Works
Preliminary conversation with the enquiring party
Separate preparation calls with each participant (if helpful)
Facilitated session (typically 2–3 hours)
Brief post-session debrief and optional next steps
Shared Plan Documentation
A service that takes what a family has agreed — whether through a Tandemly facilitation process or their own independent conversations — and translates it into a clear, well-organised written document for their own records. The document is not a legal instrument; it is a practical reference designed to reduce ambiguity and support follow-through.
All drafts are reviewed by the family before finalisation. Nothing appears in the document that participants have not confirmed. The final copy belongs to the family.
- Written in plain, accessible language
- All participants review and approve before finalisation
- Delivered as a secure digital document
- Can be updated at a later stage if the family chooses
How It Works
Review of session notes and agreed points
First draft produced by Tandemly documentation team
Review cycle — participants request edits or confirm
Final document delivered to all participants
